For macOS, Windows and Linux

Focus goes where you look.

Eyeline uses your camera to see which screen, window or split pane you're looking at, and moves keyboard focus there before you type. No more clicking first.

Hover over a window to look at it — or just watch.

The problem

You look at the other screen. Your words land in the old one.

On a computer, keyboard focus stays where you last clicked. So you turn to your other monitor, start typing — and it goes into the window you just left. You reach for the mouse, click, and type again. Dozens of times a day.

Without Eyeline

Look → type into the wrong window → grab the mouse → click → type again.

With Eyeline

Look → type. Focus is already there.

How it works

Turn to a screen. Just type.

1

You look

Turn toward the screen, window or pane you want to work in — the way you already do.

2

Eyeline sees it

It reads where your head and eyes point, right on your computer, and matches that to your screens.

3

You type

The window you look at is already focused. The pointer moves along to that screen too.

Try it here

See it follow your eyes.

Turn on your camera, look at three windows to calibrate, then just look around. The window you look at takes focus — like Eyeline does across your real screens.

Features

Careful about when it moves.

A focus switcher you can't trust is worse than none, so Eyeline waits until it's sure.

Every screen remembers

Look at a monitor and land in the window you're looking at — or, if it can't tell, the one you used last there. Any arrangement: side by side, stacked, or a laptop below two monitors.

Windows and split panes

On the same screen, focus follows you between windows — and between split panes in terminals and code editors like VS Code, Cursor, Xcode, iTerm2 and JetBrains IDEs. Works with one display too.

Never mid-sentence

While you type, nothing moves. Focus waits until a moment after your last keystroke, so reading another screen never steals your words.

The mouse stays in charge

While you use the mouse or trackpad — and for a beat after — Eyeline keeps still.

No flicker at the edge

Quick glances are ignored, and leaving a screen takes a slightly bigger look than arriving, so the bezel between monitors doesn't ping-pong.

Ignores your phone

Looking down at your desk, your phone or out the window? Gazes far from every screen are simply ignored.

Learns as you work

You look where you click, so everyday clicks quietly sharpen accuracy. If it starts missing — you moved your monitors — it suggests a quick recalibration.

Pause in one keystroke

⇧⌘G (Ctrl+Alt+G on Windows and Linux) pauses and resumes anywhere. You can change the shortcut.

Every desktop

A native menu bar app on Mac, a tray app on Windows and Linux. Same behaviour everywhere.

Privacy

Your camera stays yours.

Eyeline needs the camera to see where you're looking — and that's all it does with it.

  • ✓Processed on your computer. Apple Vision on Mac, MediaPipe on Windows and Linux. No cloud.
  • ✓Never saved. Each camera frame lives in memory for a moment and is thrown away.
  • ✓Nothing about you leaves. No account, no analytics, no recordings.
  • ✓Stops when you step away. The camera turns off when your computer locks or sleeps, and whenever you pause.

Setup

About two minutes. Then forget it's there.

1

Allow the camera

So it can see which way you're facing.

2

Allow focus control

Accessibility on Mac; nothing extra on Windows and Linux.

3

Calibrate

Look at a dot as it moves around each screen — about 20 seconds per screen.

4

Start typing

Turn to a screen, window or pane, and type.

FAQ

Questions, answered.

Does it really track my eyes?+

Both your head and your eyes. Switching screens leans mostly on which way your head is turned, which an ordinary webcam reads reliably. Choosing a window or split pane on the same screen adds where your eyes are pointing, refined by calibration and by your clicks.

Does it record or upload video?+

No. Frames are analysed in memory on your computer and thrown away immediately. Nothing is written to disk and nothing is sent anywhere. The same goes for the demo on this page — it runs in your browser.

Do I need more than one display?+

No. With one display, Eyeline focuses the window or split pane you're looking at. With two or more, it also switches between screens.

Which camera does it use?+

An external camera if one is plugged in, otherwise the built-in one. You can pick any camera in Settings — choose the one that faces you most directly.

Will it steal focus while I'm typing or using the mouse?+

No. While you type, focus stays put until a moment after your last keystroke (2 seconds by default). While you use the mouse or trackpad, and for 1.5 seconds after, it never moves focus or the pointer.

Does it click on things?+

Focus changes go through the operating system, not clicks. The one exception: a few terminals and editors don't let other apps focus a split pane directly, so Eyeline clicks the middle of the pane you're looking at — only in those apps — and you can turn that off.

What if I move my monitors or my chair?+

Leaning in or sitting back is compensated automatically. If you move a monitor or your laptop, recalibrate from the menu — and if you forget, Eyeline notices focus missing and suggests it.

Is there a free trial?+

Yes — 7 days with every feature. It starts once you finish calibrating, so setup doesn't eat into it.

What if it doesn't work for me?+

Email us within 14 days of buying and you'll get a full refund, no questions asked.

Does it work on Linux with Wayland?+

Not yet. Wayland doesn't let apps move focus to other apps' windows. Choose an X11 (Xorg) session at the login screen and Eyeline works fully.

Stop clicking before you type.

Hands-free focus for every screen you use.
